Dr. Emily Alder has been in private practice in the Eugene/Springfield area since 2016. She graduated with her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in 2013. During her training, she worked as a mental health counselor at the Native American Rehabilitation Association (NARA) in their inpatient treatment facility, Lutheran Community Services Northwest in McMinnville, OR, and the Lewis & Clark College counseling center. She also worked at KIDO Psychological Services in Vancouver, WA as an assessment technician.
Dr. Alder completed her internship at the University of North Dakota’s University Counseling Center in Grand Forks, N.D., and her residency at Washington State University’s Counseling and Testing Services in Pullman, WA. While working at KIDO and UND, she led groups related to substance abuse recovery, and at WSU she led a support group for LGBTQ students. She has also cofacilitated several interpersonal process groups for students and adults with histories of abuse.
Dr. Alder is originally from Eugene and has a strong commitment to supporting and serving her community. She currently serves at the President-Elect for the Lane County Psychologists’ Association (LCPA). She has also been a member of the American Psychological Association since 2011 and Oregon Psychological Association since 2020.
